Dear Chamber Member,

Today I’m sending out this note as an update to the Welcome to Cumberland project being administered by your local Chamber of Commerce.

According to our files your organization is interested in participating in the welcome package going out to newcomers to our County. The contact information for those newcomers comes to us from two sources:

• Realtors operating in the Cumberland region, and
• The Multicultural Association of Cumberland

In each case it’s only those who have given permission for their contact information to be shared with us that are on the list for a welcome package. Currently this represents about 200 families each year that are purchasing a home in the Cumberland region who didn’t already live here.  Because of the size of this number we wanted to bring it to your attention and make sure that our records accurately reflect what you would like included in the package on your behalf. For those Chamber Member organizations who are only including a welcome and bio of their services, location, and open hours this will not likely have any impact. But for those providing a discount certificate or product gift we wanted to give you to opportunity to provide guidelines or make changes to what your level of participation would be.

Some member businesses operate throughout the County while others serve a more local market. Feel free to let us know the communities within Cumberland County you serve that you would want included or not included.
